Back to School

It's back to school time! It's always so nice for summer to arrive, and by now we are ready to get back to our routines for a while. I hope everyone involved in school (parents and teachers) have a wonderful year-and if you are not directly associated with a school, please remember to say a prayer for those of us who are! We have had a wonderful summer and hope you have, too!

Tillman's Birthday Party

We enjoyed cooling off at Tillman's second birthday party yesterday! He and John are in pre-school and the nursery together at church. Both John and Elizabeth had a great time splashing around!

Moving on Up

John just moved up to his next car seat, which is a booster seat-he's getting so big! Elizabeth moved into his old seat, and LOVES her new freedom! No more bucket seat days-the babies are growing up! :( Although it makes me a little sad, I love each new stage!

Halloween in July???

John pulled my robe out of the laundry basket the other day and this is the costume he came up with...Halloween in July maybe? I especially love his diaper hanging out underneath! Ha!

Breakfast Club and the Splash Park

We joined friends from Supper Club last Saturday for something different-breakfast and then on to the Splash Park. John had a ball, as always, and Elizabeth enjoyed it for her first time in the water there!

John's First Movie

We took John to see Winne the Pooh last week for his first movie. He did so good and the movie was precious! We had a wonderful time!

Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

ISR Graduation

John finished his ISR lessons last week! He swam and floated in summer clothes on Thursday and winter clothes on Friday-and did great in both! We are so proud of him! He will have one more review lesson this Thursday and that will be it until a refresher week next spring. Elizabeth will take her lessons then, too!

Not My Idea of a Milk Bath

This is what happens when you leave John too long with a bowl of Cheerios!

John's First Trip to the Dentist

John had his first trip to the dentist last week! He was excited when we arrived...the orange balloon and bag full of goodies were right up his alley! However, when Dr. Kenney tried to look at his teeth he wasn't so sure. So...Dr. Kenney got his workout for the day by tossing John around a few times to make him laugh, and in turn, getting a good look at his teeth. Everything looked great, he has all but his last four molars, and he giggled until he hurt...not a bad first trip to the dentist!

Ten Months

Elizabeth was ten months old on Saturday! Time is flying by SO fast. Our swing, bouncy seat and activity mat are long gone...she is about to move from her bucket carrier to John's current car seat (he's graduating to a bigger one, too.) She is pulling up and beginning to cruise on furniture. This baby girl is D-O-N-E with bottles-she wants her formula in a cup! She laughs constantly, is becoming such a good sleeper (we had a little trouble back in the spring thanks to tough teething-which by the way, she has six teeth with two more on the way!) She eats pretty good, but sometimes would much rather play than stop to eat. Her hair is getting thicker with a little curl above each ear-but it is super curly when wet! She loves the water so far like her big brother. Her favorite toy is anything John has-learning to share is hard, but we're working on it! She and John play really well together, and love to make each other laugh. Sweet girl!

Splish Splash, WE Were Taking a Bath!

Last night was the first time John and Elizabeth took a bath together! He is old enough to be careful around her, and she is big enough to be out of the baby bathtub. They had a great time splashing and getting clean!

Backyard Fun

Jamie, Matt and the girls came over yesterday afternoon to enjoy birthday leftovers and some backyard fun! We are trying to find ways to beat the heat this week-looks like it is going to be super hot!

I love this picture. Sarah said John "needed" her to hold his hand when he was sliding down. After he got to the bottom, the two of them would pose each time for photos-precious!

A Wonderful Day!

We had John's birthday party today-what fun! The babies seemed to enjoy cooling off in the water and I think everyone enjoyed visiting with each other. Thanks to our sweet family and friends, it was a wonderful day! John is a blessed boy!

Happy Birthday, John!

John was two years old yesterday! We started the celebration off with lots of balloons and Shipley's doughnuts for breakfast.
Elizabeth enjoyed John's birthday breakfast, too!
After that, it was time to open Mom and Dad's gifts...
Books-our favorite!Next we took John to playschool to have a fun day with friends! We left cookies for the sweet toddlers to have after lunch.
For supper, we went to...Chuck E. Cheese! This was John's first trip, and he didn't know what to think. He could hardly take it all in!
He loved the yellow truck-we used three tokens on it!
John also decided it was better to interact with the ski ball game!
Dad was able to sort of explain how the game is supposed to be played (although John still disagreed, so we moved on to another spot!)
Playing in front of the blue screen and seeing yourself on TV is so fun!!! The last experience before eating supper-riding the big rocking horse with Dad! Enjoying cheese pizza and for the first time, Sprite!
It was a wonderful day, and more fun to come on Saturday at the party. Check back for photos!

Getting Ready to be TWO!

I caught this photo tonight before John was asleep-his last day to be a one year old. I can't believe he will be TWO tomorrow! He is such a precious, joyful blessing (even in the midst of a tantrum!) Birthday fun starts in the morning...more photos coming soon!

We enjoyed the Fourth of July at Darden. There was a lot of swimming...
