She's Here!

Elizabeth Scott Pannell arrived on Thursday, September 9th at 5:50 pm. She weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. and is 19 1/2 in. We came home yesterday, and have been enjoying visiting with family and friends as we settle into our new routines. Everything is going well, and we will post more updates soon!

Just the Three of Us

After Wednesday, it won't be just the three of us anymore...and we can't wait! Check back for a post announcing Elizabeth's arrival!

First Day of School

Today was John's first day of playschool at church-what a big boy! He slept until 8 am, had a great breakfast and was ready to go when we left at 8:45. When mother and I picked him up at 2, his teachers said he had a wonderful day and did great-he even got two stickers on his daily report! He was all smiles and laughs this afternoon, and I know he will love it again on Thursday!

Baby Jail

John's friend Andrew has what his mom has aptly named "baby jail." We decided berore Elizabeth arrives this week, we needed a safe play area for John that is just his. Santa came in September and brought his his very own baby jail-and it is fabulous!

Labor Day Weekend Fun

We celebrated a great Labor Day weekend with a trip to Darden yesterday. First, we made a stop by the field house for Jason to fill up our coolers with ice to have at the lake. John had so much fun watching and "helping" his dad. Before we left, John found the red swivel chair in the office and had so much fun spinning it around...and around...and around. When Jason put him in it and spun him around, it was precious! He had a blast and we know it's only a matter of time before he starts begging to go with dad to the field house!

After great food, fun at the lake, a GREAT ball game and a good bath before we left, you see how John ended the day when we were on our way home!

Tonight we enjoyed visiting with our friends Marc and Laura and their sweet daughter Elizabeth. They are in Starkville for the week at Laura's parents, and made a trip to Tupelo for dinner.

Now we are ready for the real Labor Day to get here later this week! :)

Haircut

Mother and I took John for a haircut on Friday-he desperatly needed one, especially before he starts playschool and becomes a big bother this week! Although he had a slight first haircut after he turned one in July, this one was much more in depth (and needed!) He did great, and now looks like such a big boy!

Open House at FUMC

We took John to Open House last night at church...I can't believe he begins playschool there next Tuesday! He will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2, which will hopefully give Mom and Elizabeth a little "girl time" during the week! He made himself right at home (as always) and had a ball visiting with his other sweet friends who will be in his class and eating Goldfish his teachers had for each child. His teachers, Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Sherri, are so precious and he loved hugging them. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, but I will certainly have it on Tuesday to get photos of him on his first day of school!

Hummingbirds

We set up two hummingbird feeders this summer near a window in the living room so John could watch...we never expected to have as many hummingbirds as we've seen! It seems each time we look out the window there is one at a feeder. John loves watching them, but he also loves to pat on the window, which sometimes scares them away!

Rites of Passage

Last Friday, John and I joined some of his other friends at Andrew's house to play, and we got them McDonald's cheeseburgers and french fries for lunch. John had never had a cheeseburger or french fries before, and of course he LOVED it! He would have eaten the entire burger, but I only let him have a little over half, and we shared his fries.

We made homemade pizza the other night, which was also his first time to have pizza. I didn't get a photo of him eating it, but not quite as exciting, since his only had spinach and tomatoes! Again, he ate every bite, as he usually does most everything...I wonder if Elizabeth will be as agreeable an eater?
