Happy Halloween!
We had a fun Halloween night! We visited the Bakers first, then came back to our street. John still hasn't quite gotten the concept of trick or treating, but I have a feeling this is our last year to go light on Halloween...he was very interested in the candy in his bucket! Elizabeth was just along for the ride! Here's a few photos of our fun evening.
On our way!
Our first stop was at the Bakers...Lauren and Sarah were beautiful fairies!
These are our precious neighbors, Jim and Lauren. They are the only ones (besides family) who have ever baby sat for John and Elizabeth. Lauren is the music and 3 year old teacher at FUM-we love them! John and E. dug all through their candy bowl-I bet they traded candies 10 times before we left. I have no idea what they ended up bringing home from there.
Inspecting the loot.
We picked our pumpkin from the pumpkin patch after we got back home.
Happy Halloween...is November really here already?!

October Fun!
We had a wonderful time last Sunday on our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch to celebrate Big Daddy's birthday. Before we left that morning, John and Elizabeth explored our own pumpkin patch in the yard-yes, it's back this year! Check last October's posts for details!
Now for Pumpkin Patch photos...
And now for the famous brother/sister pair...
This was our van in Trunk or Treat last Wednesday night (where these photos were taken.)
The costumes are ready for tomorrow night-check back for more Halloween photos! Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Mrs. Jean, A Big Boy Cup, and Footed PJs
Just a short post about a few photos...

Mrs. Jean Middleton has been coming once a week to our house to work with John on speech. Before she started, John had a lot of sounds, but just wasn't putting them together to make words and phrases. I have seen children in school who were very bright, but held back by speech problems, and we certainly didn't want that to happen with him. His pediatrician agreed, so about six weeks ago, Mrs. Jean started with John. It is amazing how far he's progressed during that time, not to mention the fact that he LOVES her so much! It's all games to him, and he greets her at the door and cries when she leaves each time. We are so proud of him and we all love Mrs. Jean!

John has started using a "big boy cup" some at the table-of course he loves it, and prefers it rather than his sippy cup. He does pretty good with it...I found these great little cups at Wal-Mart that are made for toddlers. They have no lip, and are wide based-easy for little hands to hold them.

We have LOVED our cooler fall weather recently (minus all of the congestion, coughing and runny noses we've ALL dealt with! Side note-poor Elizabeth had to do breathing treatments this past week-horrible!) It's even been cold enough at night for footed pjs! We love this time of year!

Friday Night Lights from a Different Perspective
This year Jason is taking a break from coaching. It has been kind of nice for him to be able to slow down a little, and we LOVE having him home so much more! He does have to work at every home game, but it's nothing like when he coached. Mom and I took John and Elizabeth for a little bit to last Friday night's Homecoming game.
On a different note, this is a picture I made when we ate at Danver's before the game. John is starting to not sit in a high chair when we go out to eat. He sometimes uses a booster, but not always. He's doing great with learning to stay in his seat-our sweet boy (and baby girl) are growing up TOO FAST!!!
