Sit Down, Miss E!

This baby girl is getting too big too fast!

Two Peas in a Pod

Maggie's Birthday Party

John and Elizabeth enjoyed Maggie Benjamin's birthday party last Sunday at the Splash Park. It's hard to believe all of these summer babies are turning TWO! The sweet birthday girl

The babies had a wonderful time recently at Annelise Fagan's birthday party, too, but unfortunately I forgot the camera that day :(

Splash Park

We met a few friends at the Splash Park at Veteran's Park on Tuesday. John could not get in the water fast enough! Some of his buddies weren't quite as sure about the water, and I hate I didn't get any pictures of them. However, John played for about 45 minutes and had the best time! It's so great to have such fun family activities in Tupelo...we will definitely visit again soon!

One happy boy!

Summer Playschool

John and Elizabeth started summer playschool at church on Monday! They are both going on Mondays and John is going on Wednesdays as well. He LOVES going to school, and Elizabeth seemed to have a great day on her first day as well! They will both go on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in September.

Ready to go with our backpack and diaper bag!

All smiles on the first day of school!

John was excited but too busy with his play phone to look up!

Having fun in the nursery!

Again, too busy playing to look up for a photo!

The Martians Have Landed!

John LOVES playing with the colanders...tonight he strolled in the living room with these two in hand, one for him and one for his ever willing Dad. (Don't worry, we wash them before we use them!)

Happy Father's Day!

What special men these are! Although Jason and I don't have our dads here anymore to celebrate with on Father's Day, we love our other "dads" very much!

And can you tell how much John and Elizabeth love their daddy? He's pretty smitten, too!

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful daddies out there!

Vacation Bible School 2011

Vacation Bible School ended last night-it has been a great week! This year's theme was Shake It Up Cafe and the children really seemed to enjoy learning about the festivals and celebrations of the Old Testament. Mom and I taught one of the Kindergarten classes. Jason portrayed Jesus two nights during the story time and John went to the Two Year Old class those nights (a sight to behold, I'm sure.) He did make the precious craft below, plus a few other neat keepsakes!

Our classroom door

All the children singing last night at the performance before supper. They did a great job and the music and motions were precious!

Sweet handprints!

Nine Months

Sweet E. turned nine months old a couple of weeks ago and is soooooo much fun! She is crawling everywhere, beginning to pull up and talks (babbles) a lot! She still eats well, just not much at one time like we were used to with John. She is going to sleep much easier than she did the past few months (teething has been the main culprit.) Speaking of, she has her top two and bottom two teeth, and just today we saw one more on the bottom coming through. She had her 9 month check up this week and she weighs 19 lbs. and is 28.75 inches. Her giggles are contagious and she LOVES her crazy big brother...so much fun!

ISR Lessons

John began ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) lessons two weeks ago. As I've mentioned before, he is fearless in and around the water. He has done great, and would love to stay longer each day after his lesson is over! His sweet teacher, Mrs. Regina, is wonderful. He even had the opportunity to work with Mr. Chuck who was here last weekend to re-certify his teacher. He will probably have 2-3 more weeks of lessons; so far he can swim underwater to a target from various angles and begins incorporating floating next week. We are so proud of him!

Summer Fun!

We are enjoying our summer SO much! John and Elizabeth are really starting to play together and enjoy each other. Here are a few highlights of lately...

Sweet brother and sister!

We found this one day after John had been playing...so proud! Can we say future mathematician like his daddy?!

Or maybe a future artist???

It has begun...two successes and a whole lot of sitting. We have read this book a hojillion times.

Sweet Ellie Behm's 2nd birthday party...

Swinging with the birthday girl!

Having fun is hard work!

Jumping, Teething and Giggles-OH MY!

Elizabeth LOVES her Jump-A-Roo borrowed from Sarah and the Johnny Jump Up as well-she will stay in both for forever! John has especially enjoyed showing her all of the cool toys on the jumper!

A few nights ago after putting E. in her crib but before I turned her lamp off, I came back in her room and found this: She will teethe on ANYTHING she can find!
I am hilarious!!!

Bo's 60 and Retired!

We celebrated Bo's 60th birthday and retirement a few weeks ago with a great fish fry at Darden. Although it was super HOT, it was a fun night with lots of friends and family!

The guest of honor chatting it up with some friends-I love this picture!

A fabulous night was had by everyone!

Swimming at Boss's

We took John and Elizabeth swimming at Boss's house today. It wasn't quite as humid as it has been, but it is super HOT for the first week of June (98 degrees!) The pool was great, though, and both babies had a blast! We will be back many more times before summer is over!

When I say fearless, I mean fearless!

Elizabeth loved the water-especially being in the float John used last summer!

A Great Memorial Day

We enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at Darden! John is fearless in the water, but listens to instructions well (he is starting infant survival swimming classes next week!)

Elizabeth enjoyed the sunshine too!

It was Bo's birthday weekend, but she spend most of it cooking and cleaning for us-she gets to celebrate her birthday and retirement this Saturday night though, so be sure to check back for a post about that next week!

Crawling

Look who is crawling EVERYWHERE! Elizabeth started a few weeks ago and is a speed racer now. We are busy with two mobile babies-but it sure is fun!

Silly Boy

There is a photo very similar of me just a little older than John doing this exact same thing!

A Busy May

The latter half of May was super busy for us-I'm a little behind on posting! We enjoyed the Gumtree run by watching it at the Curlee's house during breakfast.

John and Elizabeth enjoyed watching the race!

Miles, the host's precious little boy who is a little younger than Elizabeth. I love his head full of red hair!

We also enjoyed Lauren's dance recital a few weeks ago. She was wonderful-we can't wait for her to teach Elizabeth how to dance! She had the lead in her piece and did a great job!

That same afternoon we went to our friend's daughter's birthday party. Dixie was a cowgirl at her birthday roundup-everyone had a great time!

Dixie, the sweet birthday girl!

Getting ready to slide!

Taking it all in.

That night we helped host a farwell fiesta for our friends Tracy and Bill Behm who are moving to Virginia later this month. I didn't get any photos during the party, but made this one before of some of the decorations and the precious cupcakes that said Adios! We will miss the Behms (their daughter, Ellie, is three weeks older than John and has been in his class at playschool) but are excited for them!

My cousin Coleman graduated from Lee Academy a couple of weeks ago. I can't BELIEVE he is old enough to be out of high school! He is going to State in the fall-we are so excited for him and know he'll do great!

John also graduated (ha!) from his first year of playschool a couple of weeks ago! He had a wonderful year with Mrs. Sherri and Mrs. Kim. He and Elizabeth will both attend this summer starting June 20th for Summer Fun Days, and they will both be back in the fall on Tuesdays and Thursdays, after Labor Day.

This was John the first day of playschool last September with Mrs. Sherri and Mrs. Kim.

This is him on the last day of school in May-what a difference a school year makes!

Jason ended the school year last Friday and yesterday was my official start to summer! He is working with the Natchez Trace on their curriculum this summer and preparing to begin his National Boards in the fall. I am enjoying spending LOTS of time with the babies. It looks to be a great summer-we hope yours is too!!!
