Easter

We dyed our Easter eggs yesterday and John wanted so badly to splash in the dye cups!

Thinking Elizabeth might enjoy seeing them, I sat her on the counter in her Bumbo-but she decided touching was much better, too!

Checking out our baskets and Easter eggs...

Time to put Elizabeth's away-this grass is delicious!

The Easter Bunny came!

We had a wonderful Easter and hope you did too! This is the day which the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Happy Birthday, Jason!!!

Yesterday was Jason's birthday and we had a fun time celebrating! After a wonderful breakfast at Cracker Barrel, he enjoyed a little alone time in the afternoon at a movie (a scary movie I was NOT planning to see!) We had a strawberry ice cream cake (his favorite) when he returned home. Mom kept John and Elizabeth last night while we enjoyed dinner at Logan's with a gift card his school gave us when Elizabeth was born. We are blessed to have such a wonderful husband and daddy in our lives. We love you very much!!!

Good Friday

John and Elizabeth enjoyed spending the night at Darden with Bo and Big Daddy last Thursday night! Jason and I went to the Maundy Thursday service and meal at church and then afterwards on to...PROM! Jason's homeroom group are Seniors this year, so we got to make an appearance at the SHS prom last year and this year. We headed over to Darden on Friday to spend a beautiful, warm day outside and celebrate Jason's birthday, which was the next day. John, Elizabeth, Lauren and Sarah had a ball in the new sandbox Jason helped put in place for them. The water was chilly but the baby pool was just right- we are looking forward to a wonderful summer at the lake! Although we didn't make it back in time for the Good Friday service at church, we enjoyed the beautiful day created for us!

Helping Big Daddy drive the boat.

Loving the lake!

John's Class Easter Egg Hunt

We had a LOT of rain last week, so on Thursday, John's class had their Easter egg hunt in the playroom at church. These sweet toddlers didn't mind at all, and loved finding their eggs full of Goldfish! John was happy after finding one egg, but got a few more with a little help. :) He came home with a lot of special Easter treats and a full tummy!

Enjoying the Sunshine!

Although we have had our share of April showers so far, we have had many beautiful, sunny days, too. Here's one recently, and we thought it would be a good day for a few photos. Since we brought Elizabeth home, we have always reminded John to "Be gentle" and he carefully pats her on the head as his way of showing that. So sweet!

A Cup of My Own

We recently found Elizabeth playing with this after John had left it near her in the living room...

so we decided it was time for her own! She has drank from it a few times since.

Seven Months

Our sweet baby girl was seven months old a few weeks ago. Joy!

Lately

Life has been pretty slow around our house lately, which is very nice. Slow might not be the best word-with a busy almost 2 year old and a nearly 7 month old-slow isn't in our vocabulary too much, but calm is maybe a better choice.

Jason and I are finishing up the last nine weeks of school...summer is just around the corner! It's not a secret that the school district I teach in is going through A LOT right now, as is all of Tupelo. We are praying for wisdom and guidance during this time of transition to know what it is our family is to do...prayers from you are appreciated too!

John and Elizabeth are becoming more of a pair, so to speak, than ever before. Although they can't play together yet, it is so obvious how much they love each other. We are so thankful for their sweet relationship as brother and sister and can't wait to watch that grow!

Our church is using a WONDERFUL study during Lent focused on the seven deadly sins. The study is written by Maxie Dunham, an amazing Methodist minister. I highly recommend being a part of it if you ever get the chance. Although the seven deadly sins are not mentioned as such in the Bible, their references are certainly there. Each week we focus on a different sin; so far we have covered pride, envy, lust and today we covered anger. It is very eye opening to see how these sins are an unfortunate part of our lives and in the world around us...I know this study has definitely made us more aware of the impact of sin on us and in turn, has strengthened our faith. Jason and I are also in a great Bible study on Wednesday nights, Inspired by Hope, by Bishop N.T. Wright of the Church of England. It focuses on rethinking death, the resurrection and the purpose of the church on earth. Great, great study and we are looking forward to continuing it this semester.

On a different note...the Cheerio fairy came to see us recently!

We are looking forward to a great week and hope you are too!
